About the position

Threads 4 Thought is seeking a Full-time Assistant Product Developer / Apparel Designer to join their team. This entry-level position involves working closely with senior design and production teams to support the design and development of sustainable apparel. The role is hybrid, requiring three days in the Sherman Oaks office and two days working from home, and focuses on sample management, data integrity, and assisting in the preparation of design presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sample management, style number, & colorway creation.
  • Maintain data integrity across our systems and set-up seasonal / new styles with all key points of information in our ERP system.
  • Maintain, organize and set-up seasonal line sheets.
  • Track & manage sample process for one of our key customers to ensure timely delivery of Photo Samples & TOP samples to their office.
  • Create CAD drawings for customer presentations & seasonal designs based on direction from senior designers.
  • Facilitate the organization of samples for the product development team as required.
  • Assist in the preparation for fittings and design presentations as required.
  • Take clear and concise notes for key meetings and communicate to relevant internal team members as needed.
  • Take a proactive approach to advancing technical and product management knowledge through mentorship and training from senior technical and senior product development team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in apparel design or equivalent professional experience; training in Technical Design, Product Management, Product Development or relevant experience preferred.
  • 0 - 2 years professional experience in apparel design / product development.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Strong attention to detail, individual initiative, organizational skills, and strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Curiosity for learning and growth.
