The Assistant Product Owner position within the State of Colorado's Department of Human Services (CDHS) is a full-time role focused on operationalizing the Colorado Works and Adult Financial Assistance programs. This position is crucial for ensuring that automated systems accurately reflect the requirements of these programs, which provide essential support to vulnerable populations in Colorado. The role involves working closely with various stakeholders, including the Office of Information and Technology (OIT), county departments, and external vendors, to identify system changes that enhance the delivery of benefits to clients. The Assistant Product Owner will be responsible for understanding the business rules governing the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS) and related applications. This includes analyzing current functionalities, identifying usability issues, and proposing solutions to improve system performance. The position requires collaboration with department staff and policy experts to develop high-level business requirements for necessary changes, ensuring that all modifications align with state and federal regulations. In addition to system analysis, the role involves providing technical assistance and support to county staff, helping them navigate the complexities of the CBMS and ensuring compliance with program requirements.
