About the position

As an Assistant Production Manager, you will report directly to the Production Manager and take charge of the milling department, which consists of 9-10 employees. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring that all equipment, materials, and processes operate within established standard parameters. You will be tasked with addressing any deviations from these standards to maintain production goals effectively. A significant part of your role will involve optimizing manufacturing lines to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and effectively while also managing and supporting your team to achieve these objectives. In this position, you will be required to adhere to various industry-specific regulations, including the Global Food Safety Initiative Standards, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points Certification, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures. Your role will be crucial in driving changes and improvements in performance, food safety, and quality. You will collaborate closely with the Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) and Maintenance teams to foster a culture of safety and quality within the organization. This collaborative effort will be essential in ensuring that the production processes meet the highest standards of safety and quality. The Assistant Production Manager will operate in various areas of the facility, including the office, clean rooms, and manufacturing spaces. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level, and temperature conditions can range from 60 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the season and asset functionality. Additionally, some weekend and overtime work will be required to meet production demands and ensure operational efficiency.
