About the position
The Assistant Professor position in Adult & Lifelong Education/Training & Development at NC State University is a tenure-track role focused on scholarly research, teaching, and community engagement. The successful candidate will contribute to the Adult and Lifelong Education Program, emphasizing training and development, and will be expected to maintain a strong record of research and publication while collaborating with faculty and students to enhance program success.
Responsibilities
- Contribute scholarly expertise in research related to adult teaching and learning, particularly in training and development.
- Teach and develop graduate courses in the online Training & Development and Adult Education master's degree programs.
- Advise and mentor master's and doctoral students, focusing on expanding the Training and Development program.
- Engage in service and leadership at local, state, national, and potentially international levels.
- Participate in outreach efforts to meet community needs and contribute to departmental and university missions.
Requirements
- Doctor's degree or equivalent in Adult & Lifelong Education/Training & Development or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in research, teaching, extension, and service.
- An established or developing program of research in Adult and Lifelong Education, training and development, or related areas.
- Commitment to serving and mentoring diverse learners.
Nice-to-haves

- Strong record or potential for external research funding.
- Ability to teach both face-to-face and online courses.
