About the position
JCCC is searching to fill our open Assistant Professor, Construction Management Technology position. Faculty members are expected to be effective teachers and excel in classroom instruction. Minimum expectations of faculty who teach at JCCC include teaching, content expertise, sound instructional methods drawn from the scholarship of teaching and learning, successful communication, and meeting institutional expectations. In addition to teaching, full-time faculty members are expected to be active members of the College Community, performing professional responsibilities in accordance with the goals, missions, and plans of the department, program, division, and College, contributing to the growth and enhancement of the College mission and programs, and contributing to the creation of a collegial culture.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Construction Management Technology
- Develop and implement effective instructional methods
- Engage in professional development and community service
- Contribute to departmental and college-wide initiatives
- Participate in curriculum development and assessment
Requirements
- BS degree or higher
- 7 years of relevant experience
- Ability to teach in areas such as Construction Methods, Building Codes, Construction Specifications, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Materials, Green Building Fundamentals, Construction Documents, and Construction Cost Estimating
- Ability to teach all classes in person
- Past experience in teaching or in construction trades
- Past construction experience in related classes
