The Assistant Professor Counselor Education (Tenure-Track) position at Texas Southern University is a 9-month faculty role focused on teaching, research, and service within the Department of Counseling. Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the discipline area and provide quality instruction.
• Conduct rigorous academic research and publish in the respective area of discipline.
• Advise and mentor doctoral students in the Doctor of Education (EDD) program.
• Participate in college committees and service-related activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues on research interests and co-curricular activities.
• Assess self, students, and teaching techniques to increase effectiveness.
• Engage in continuous professional development.

Requirements

• An earned doctoral degree in counselor education/counselor education and supervision.
• Licensed Professional Counselor certification.
• Certified School Counselor certification.
• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Two or more years of postdoctoral research experience.
• A record of impactful research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience teaching in an active learning environment with innovative teaching strategies.
• Experience writing competitive funding proposals.
• Experience developing and maintaining a funded research program.
