About the position

The position is for a faculty member in the Department of Society, Culture, Crime, & Justice Studies at Western Kentucky University, focusing on delivering high-quality instruction in Criminology. The role requires a Ph.D. in Sociology, Criminology, or Criminal Justice, with a specialization in areas such as Juvenile Delinquency, Gender and Crime, Courts and Sentencing, or Victimization. The faculty member will be expected to teach both face-to-face and online courses, engage in scholarly research, and participate in service activities within the department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction for elective and core requirements in the undergraduate Criminology program.
• Teach courses in specialized areas such as Juvenile Delinquency, Gender and Crime, Courts and Sentencing, or Victimization.
• Provide both face-to-face and online instruction.
• Engage in scholarly research and maintain an ongoing record of research activities.
• Participate in service activities within the department.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Sociology, Criminology, or Criminal Justice completed by the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
