The Department of Art, Design and Game Development at Long Island University is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Digital Game Design and Development. This position is set to begin on September 1, 2024, and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the undergraduate program, teaching a variety of required courses including Game Development 1 through 3, Visual Design for Games, Senior Game Project, and Topics in Game Design. The faculty member will also be responsible for developing innovative elective classes, fostering internship opportunities within the New York area, and collaborating with faculty from Computer Science and Digital Art and Design to ensure a rigorous curriculum is maintained. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Assistant Professor will engage in service on faculty committees, prepare outcomes assessment reports, and contribute to strategic planning documents. The role also involves planning events for current and prospective students, updating curriculum and technology as needed, and representing the program at open house and recruitment events.
