About the position

The School of Communication and Multimedia Studies at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor in digital media production, starting August 2025. This role focuses on teaching and research in digital cinema, filmmaking, and interactive design, with an emphasis on supporting diverse student backgrounds and engaging with the community.

Responsibilities

• Teach digital media production courses across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum.
• Maintain a productive scholarly/research agenda aligned with the institution's goals for R1 status.
• Engage in service activities within the university and community.

Requirements

• Earned an MFA or PhD (ABD) in digital, immersive, or interactive film/media or a closely related field by August 2025 from an accredited institution.
• High level of technical competency for interdisciplinary collaborations with visual art, architecture, computer science, and engineering.

Nice-to-haves

• Competence in industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
• Knowledge of film and media history, theory, and analysis.
• Skill in 3D printing, virtual production, and motion capture.
