About the position
The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Educational Administration to begin in August 2025. This position is designed for candidates who are committed to impactful research and teaching at the graduate level, particularly in the areas of P-12 achievement data analysis, community relations, and operational best practices for school leaders. The successful candidate will join a diverse faculty and contribute to a robust educational environment that supports research and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Developing a strong independent research program.
- Seeking external funding.
- Teaching and mentoring students across programs.
- Contributing to the program and profession through service activities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Educational Administration or Educational Leadership (by August 2025).
- Exhibits the potential for a strong research agenda.
- At least five years of experience in a leadership role in K-12 education.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience teaching students in an online learning environment within Educational Administration at the university level.
- Active principal and/or superintendent license.
- Experience in P-12 administration at the district level.
