About the position

The University of Cincinnati is seeking a non-tenure track Assistant Professor - Educator in Game Design for the School of Art within the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). This position focuses on teaching undergraduate courses in Animation and Game Design, contributing to the development of the newly established Games and Animation program, and promoting interdisciplinary practices in pedagogy. The role is designed for candidates with a strong background in Game Design, both academically and through industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate studio and seminar courses in Animation and related areas, including introductory and advanced level courses.
• Expand course offerings and bring a unique perspective to the Games and Animation Program.
• Promote interdisciplinary practices in pedagogy.
• Provide service to various School, College, and/or University committees, such as the Program Curriculum Committee.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Game Design or a related field.
• Demonstrated proficiency and engagement with the field of Game Design, evidenced by a portfolio of 20 creative works.
• Two academic years of teaching experience post-qualifying degree in an institution of higher education.
