About the position

The University of Cincinnati is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in Hospitality Management for its Clermont and Blue Ash Colleges. This educator-track position involves teaching undergraduate courses, developing a new Associate Degree program launching in Fall 2025, and a Bachelor Degree program launching in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will engage in experiential learning opportunities and collaborate with industry partners to enhance student learning.

Responsibilities

  • Assume the role of Program Director for the new Associate Degree in Hospitality Management.
  • Teach courses such as Intro to Hospitality and Tourism Industry, Hotel & Lodging Operations, and Room & Facilities Management.
  • Provide excellent instruction of online undergraduate courses in the program.
  • Participate in and support the accreditation and program review processes.
  • Develop study abroad and experiential learning opportunities for students.
  • Manage curriculum, engage in course design, and develop new courses as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing scholarship, research, and professional development.
  • Engage in service to the department, college, university, and community.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field for Assistant Professor.
  • Three or more years of excellent postsecondary online instructional experience in Hospitality and Tourism or related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in creating and supervising students' experiential learning opportunities.
  • Ability to use technology in instruction and experience with learning management systems such as Canvas or Blackboard.
  • Knowledge of accreditation criteria from the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA).
  • Knowledge of SafeServe Association Certifications.
  • Ph.D. or earned doctorate in Hospitality Management or related discipline for Associate Professor.
  • Six or more years of demonstrated excellent postsecondary online teaching experience in Hospitality and Tourism or related field.
  • Experience in developing or modifying Hospitality & Tourism courses at the college level.
  • Record of publications related to the Hospitality and Tourism Industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Teaching experience in an open access mission institution.
