About the position

The University of Cincinnati is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in Hospitality Management for its Clermont and Blue Ash Colleges. This educator-track position involves teaching undergraduate courses, managing the new Associate Degree program launching in Fall 2025, and developing experiential learning opportunities for students. The role emphasizes collaboration with hospitality organizations and requires a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student success.

Responsibilities

  • Assume the role of Program Director for the new Associate Degree in Hospitality Management launching in Fall 2025 and the Bachelor Degree program launching in Fall 2026.
  • Teach courses such as Intro to Hospitality and Tourism Industry, Hotel & Lodging Operations, and Room & Facilities Management.
  • Provide excellent instruction of online undergraduate courses in the program.
  • Maintain a minimum teaching load of eighteen credit hours annually, with the option to teach a third semester for additional compensation.
  • Participate in and support the accreditation and program review processes.
  • Develop study abroad and experiential learning opportunities for students.
  • Manage curriculum, engage in course design, and develop new courses as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing scholarship, research, and professional development.
  • Participate in ongoing service to the department, college, university, and community.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field for Assistant Professor.
  • Three or more years of excellent postsecondary online instructional experience in Hospitality and Tourism or related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in creating and supervising students' experiential learning opportunities.
  • Ability to use technology in instruction and experience with learning management systems such as Canvas or Blackboard.
  • Knowledge of accreditation criteria from the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA).
  • Knowledge of SafeServe Association Certifications for Assistant Professor.
  • Ph.D. or earned doctorate in Hospitality Management or related discipline for Associate Professor.
  • Six or more years of demonstrated excellent postsecondary online teaching experience in Hospitality and Tourism or related field for Associate Professor.
  • Experience in developing or modifying Hospitality & Tourism courses at the college level with a focus on applied and practical skills for Associate Professor.
  • Record of publications related to the Hospitality and Tourism Industry for Associate Professor.
