About the position
The Assistant Professor of Forensic Sciences position at Youngstown State University is a tenure-track role focused on teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in forensic science and crime scene investigation. Responsibilities
- Teach coursework related to forensic science and crime scene investigation at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Assist faculty in organizing and operating a forensic science teaching laboratory.
- Conduct original research leading to publication in professional journals.
- Participate in public, community, and university service.
- Promote the development of the Forensic Science program at YSU.
- Act as a liaison with the professional forensic science community.
- Communicate effectively and responsively to student needs.
- Participate in department and college recruiting activities.
- Assist in securing Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation (FEPAC) from the AAFS.
Requirements
- Master's degree in forensic science or earned doctoral degree in forensic science or a related natural science.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience teaching at the university level.
- Membership in forensic science professional societies.
