About the position

The University of Pennsylvania's Department of Neurology is seeking an Assistant Professor specializing in frontotemporal dementia and early-onset neurodegenerative diseases. This position can be in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track, focusing on clinical management, teaching, and research responsibilities related to neurodegenerative diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patients with frontotemporal dementia and other early-onset dementias.
  • Conduct therapeutic trials in early-onset dementias.
  • Present lectures to medical students, residents, and fellows on early-onset neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Engage in collaborative or independent research involving neuroimaging, biofluid, and cognitive markers of neurodegenerative disease.
  • Develop an independent research program supported by federal and foundation grants (for tenure track applicants).

Requirements

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree required.
  • Expertise in clinical management of frontotemporal dementia and early-onset neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Knowledge of neuroimaging analyses, biomarkers, clinical-pathological correlations, statistical analyses, and experimental design.
