About the position

The Departments of Biology and Earth & Environment at Boston University are seeking candidates for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Global Change Biology and Global Change Remote Sensing, starting July 1, 2025. These positions are part of a cluster hire initiative focused on Global Change & Sustainability. The successful candidates will contribute to interdisciplinary research and teaching, complementing existing expertise in the departments and the Center for Remote Sensing.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise graduate research in Ph.D. programs.
  • Teach in the Biology and/or Earth & Environment curriculum.
  • Maintain an externally funded research program.
  • Advance interdisciplinary connections and collaborations between the Departments of Biology and Earth & Environment.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Strong publication record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in interdisciplinary research in Global Change & Sustainability.
  • Expertise in Earth observation techniques such as radar, lidar, optical, thermal, or microwave remote sensing.
