About the position
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is seeking dedicated applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Health Sciences in a tenure-track role starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. This position involves teaching, research, and service within the College of Health Professions, focusing on health education and public health. The successful candidate will contribute to the university's mission of promoting access to education and health equity in a diverse, multicultural environment.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a focused research agenda.
- Procure external grants for research initiatives.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in health education and public health.
- Participate in scholarly committees and taskforces.
- Perform other duties assigned by the department chair.
- Incorporate technology and student-engaged pedagogies in teaching.
- Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and professional organizations.
Requirements
- An earned doctorate in Health Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Candidates with ABD status will be considered if the degree is conferred before the fall 2025 session.
