About the position

The Assistant Professor in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is a tenure-track, nine-month faculty position focused on teaching core and advanced undergraduate courses in Computer Information Systems and Web Development. The role involves engaging in professional growth, maintaining an active research agenda, and contributing to university and professional service, particularly in the areas of AI/ML, data science, and data management.

Responsibilities

  • Teach core and advanced undergraduate courses in Computer Information Systems and Web Development.
  • Engage in professional growth and maintain an active research agenda.
  • Contribute to university and professional service activities.
  • Possibly teach graduate-level courses in Cybersecurity, Data Science, and IT Management in the future.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to undergraduate teaching, evidenced by positive student evaluations and peer reviews.
  • Experience in the defined specialty areas, demonstrated by an active academic research portfolio or at least five years of progressive industry experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in graduate teaching.
  • Professional certifications relevant to the candidate's field of specialty.
