About the position

The Department of Criminal Justice at Schreiner University is seeking a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor to begin in January 2025. This role focuses on teaching and scholarship, particularly aimed at serving diverse and underserved populations. The successful candidate will engage in both face-to-face and online teaching, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in departmental service and research activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach varied courses in Criminal Justice, including Research Methods and Criminology.
• Advise Criminal Justice students on academic requirements and registration.
• Contribute to program improvement through evaluation of outcomes and objectives.
• Assist in ongoing curriculum development for the program.
• Engage in professional activities related to Criminal Justice.
• Conduct research and publish findings in peer-reviewed outlets.
• Comply with departmental curriculum and grading standards.
• Serve on department, school, and university committees.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related social or behavioral science discipline from an accredited institution.
• ABD candidates will be considered, but the Ph.D. must be conferred by August 2025.
