About the position

The Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine-Cardiovascular Medicine at UTMB Health is responsible for providing clinical care in cardiology, participating in educational activities, and contributing to the development of medical curricula. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with a focus on cardiac imaging and medical education.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in 3 to 5 blocks of General Cardiology inpatient services in Galveston.
  • Staff 3 to 4 outpatient clinics per week.
  • Engage in ECHO, Nuclear, EKG, and callotation procedures.
  • Dedicate 2 to 3 days per week to cardiac imaging.
  • Participate in medical school education, including courses and lectures.
  • Develop and support educational curricula for medical students.

Requirements

  • MD degree or equivalent.
  • Board certified or eligible in ABIM Cardiovascular Diseases.
  • Completed an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency.
  • Possess or eligible for full medical license in the State of Texas.
