About the position

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UWL) is seeking a dynamic Assistant Professor in Nuclear Chemistry for a tenure-track position starting in August 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching both lecture and laboratory courses in the core curriculum, as well as advanced elective courses in their area of expertise. A strong emphasis is placed on developing an active research program involving undergraduate students, particularly in nuclear chemistry. The department values inclusivity and collaboration, aiming to create a supportive environment for faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

  • Teach lecture and laboratory courses in the core curriculum and advanced elective courses in nuclear chemistry.
  • Develop an active research program involving undergraduate students.
  • Engage in departmental service and contribute to the academic community.
  • Mentor students in research and academic pursuits.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in chemistry or related discipline at the time of application.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship at the undergraduate level.
  • A research plan suitable for a Primarily Undergraduate Institution.
  • Peer-reviewed publication record.
  • Evidence of teaching and/or mentorship experience.
  • Ability to teach courses in general chemistry.
