About the position
The Assistant Professor position is a tenure-track faculty role in the CCNE accredited Nursing program at Eastern Mennonite University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching clinical practicum supervision and classroom theory in the pre-licensure program, with potential involvement in graduate-level courses. The position emphasizes the development of a scholarly program that engages students and includes advising and mentoring students in alignment with the university's values of service, empathy, compassion, and advocacy. The nursing program at EMU focuses on service, empathy, agape love, empowerment, and the nurse-patient relationship, aiming to bring wholeness and healing to the community.
Responsibilities
- Teach clinical practicum supervision and classroom theory in the pre-licensure program.
- May include teaching graduate-level courses.
- Develop an ongoing scholarly program that involves students.
- Provide department and university service through advising and mentoring students.
- Participate on university committees.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in nursing.
- Expertise in psych mental health nursing, leadership and management, or trauma and resiliency.
- College-level teaching experience preferred.
- ABD candidates will be considered at the rank of instructor.
