About the position

The Assistant Professor of Analytics and Operations Management at Bucknell University is a tenure-track position aimed at contributing to the College's mission of providing a rigorous, experiential education. The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate courses in analytics and operations management, engage in scholarly research, and participate in service activities within the department and the university. The role emphasizes a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and mentoring students.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in analytics and operations management, including introductory and advanced topics.
• Develop and offer new courses to support the business analytics major and university-wide electives.
• Engage in scholarly research and contribute to the academic community through publications and presentations.
• Advise and mentor students, particularly those from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.
• Participate in departmental and university service activities.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in operations research, business analytics, management science, operations management, information systems, data science, industrial engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
• ABD candidates will be considered with the requirement to complete their degree within one year of appointment.
• Demonstrated ability to teach effectively and engage with a diverse student body.
• Strong commitment to research and scholarly activities.

Nice-to-haves

• Post-Ph.D. full-time teaching experience may be considered for tenure credit.
