About the position
The Assistant Professor of Architecture position at Clemson University focuses on architectural design and architectural history and theory. This tenure-track role requires the successful candidate to maintain a clear research agenda, teach across various levels of the curriculum, and contribute to the program's operations through service and leadership roles. The position begins on August 15, 2025, and involves teaching core design studios and lecture courses in architectural history and theory.
Responsibilities
- Teach core or advanced design studio courses each Fall and Spring semester.
- Conduct lectures or seminars in architectural history and theory.
- Maintain a clear research agenda and disseminate research through publications or other forms of communication.
- Support the operations of the program, school, college, and/or university through service on committees or leadership roles.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture, or other accredited, professional, terminal degree in architecture.
- Complete AXP architectural internship or be ABD, with completion of doctoral degree requirements by July 1 of the employment year.
- Possess an emerging trajectory or established record of research, scholarship, and/or creative work in architecture.
Nice-to-haves
- PhD in Architectural History and Theory or in a closely related field.
