About the position

The Clemson University School of Architecture is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Architecture specializing in architectural design and architectural history and theory. The position is set to begin on August 15, 2025, and involves teaching at various levels within undergraduate, Master's, and PhD programs. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a clear research agenda, contribute to the academic community through publications, and support program operations through service roles.

Responsibilities

  • Teach core or advanced design studio courses each Fall and Spring semester.
  • Conduct core lecture courses or seminars in architectural history and theory.
  • Maintain a clear research agenda and disseminate research through publications or other means.
  • Support the operations of the program, school, college, and/or university through service on committees or leadership roles.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture, or other accredited, professional, terminal degree in architecture.
  • Complete AXP architectural internship or be ABD, with completion of doctoral degree requirements by July 1 of the employment year.
  • Possess an emerging trajectory or established record of research, scholarship, and/or creative work in architecture.
