About the position
The University of Wisconsin-Stout is seeking a dedicated individual for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science Department. This role focuses on teaching and guiding students in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) careers, promoting an equitable and inclusive environment. Responsibilities
- Teach an average of 12 credit hours of coursework each semester, including courses in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
- Involve undergraduate students in research and curriculum development.
- Provide student academic advisement and conduct assessments of student learning.
- Engage in scholarly activity and service to the department and university as assigned by the department chair.
Requirements
- Earned doctorate in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field by the employment start date.
- Record of scholarly activity or industry experience in Machine Learning.
- Interest in teaching undergraduate courses at a primarily undergraduate institution.
Nice-to-haves
- Coursework, teaching, or curriculum development in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.
- Interest in involving undergraduate students in research.
