About the position
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a qualified candidate for a faculty position in the Criminal Justice Department. This is a tenure-track position that requires teaching a wide range of undergraduate courses, including Introduction to Criminal Justice, Police and Society, Corrections, and Crime and Behavior. The position is a nine-month contract and includes teaching in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. Candidates are expected to work positively with students, staff, faculty, and the community, conduct research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and serve the department and university.
Responsibilities
- Teach online or face-to-face formats at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral level
- Work positively with faculty, staff, students, and the community
- Mentor students across the curriculum
- Conduct and disseminate scholarly research
- Serve the department, the university, and the community
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- PhD (or completed all PhD requirements before employment commences) in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field
- A JD is not sufficient for this position and will not be considered
Nice-to-haves
- Teaching experience in multiple modalities (in person, hybrid, online)
- A research agenda that allows for publication and funding
- Experience working on and preparing funded research projects
- Experience mentoring or supervising graduate students
