About the position

The Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Mayville State University is a full-time faculty position responsible for launching and developing the newly approved Criminal Justice program. The role includes teaching various courses related to criminal justice, managing program coordination, and engaging in both face-to-face and online instruction. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic growth of the program and support student recruitment and retention efforts.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in criminal court administration, relations with policing, criminal justice systems and the community, and policing.
• Manage program coordinator duties for the Criminal Justice program.
• Provide face-to-face and online instruction to students.
• Engage in ongoing program development work starting January 1, 2025.
• Advise students academically and support their recruitment and retention in the program.

Requirements

• Master's degree in criminal justice or a related field.
• Demonstration of clear, written, and oral communication skills.
• Demonstration of organizational skills.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
• Commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficient use of instructional technology.
