About the position

The Assistant Professor of Cyber Security at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is responsible for teaching a variety of courses in Cyber Security, developing course materials, mentoring students, conducting research, and seeking funding for research projects. This position aims to foster a learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth while contributing to the field of Cyber Security through scholarly research and community involvement.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of graduate and undergraduate courses in Cyber Security, including network security, information security, cryptography, ethical hacking, and risk management.
• Develop course materials, syllabi, and instructional resources that align with learning objectives and foster active learning in Cyber Security.
• Provide mentorship and academic advising to graduate and undergraduate students, offering guidance on academic programs, research opportunities, and career paths in Cyber Security.
• Conduct scholarly research in Cyber Security, leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at conferences.
• Seek external funding opportunities to support research endeavors and collaborative projects within the department and interdisciplinary areas.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other service activities.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Strong research background with a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Ability to develop course materials and engage students in active learning.
