About the position

The Assistant Professor of Digital Media position at Marist College is a full-time, tenure-track role beginning in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will primarily teach undergraduate courses in Digital Media, engage in research or creative work, and participate in faculty service. This role emphasizes the importance of diversity and inclusion in teaching and aims to inspire students to be ethically responsible professionals.

Responsibilities

• Teach 21 credits (7 courses per year) in Digital Animation, Multimedia Authoring, Game Art, and Intro to Digital Media.
• Conduct research and/or creative work in the candidate's area of expertise.
• Engage in academic advising, assessment, and service to the institution and the candidate's academic discipline/profession.
• Supervise student groups.

Requirements

• A terminal degree (MFA) in Digital Media/Art or related field.
• At least three years of teaching experience in Digital Media related courses at the undergraduate level.
• An exceptional portfolio.
• Evidence of diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience teaching 2D digital animation and motion graphics courses.
• Interest in interdepartmental collaboration.
• Knowledge of design history and contemporary issues in digital media and games.
