About the position

The University of Georgia is seeking an Assistant Professor of Film and Media Scoring and Production to join the Music Theory and Composition Area at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic and artistic growth of students while engaging in research and creative activities in the field of media scoring and production.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in film and media scoring and production.
  • Supervise student projects and provide mentorship in composition and media production.
  • Engage in research and creative activities related to film and media scoring.
  • Collaborate with faculty and students across disciplines to enhance the curriculum and program offerings.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.

Requirements

  • A terminal degree in music composition, film scoring, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in film and media scoring and production.
  • A strong portfolio of recent work in media scoring and production.
  • Evidence of effective teaching at the college level.
