The Department of Music at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Music with a specialization in musicology. This position has a start date of August 2025. The successful candidate will teach a 3+2 load that includes core courses in music history at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as specialized courses in the candidate's primary area of research. The successful candidate is also expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda while establishing a record of creative activity and research productivity through presentations and publications. Service expectations include advising graduate and undergraduate projects, engaging in service within the Department of Music and the University, and participating in professional organizations. We seek an outstanding teacher and scholar who demonstrates a dedication to undergraduate and graduate teaching, including curricular development, and a commitment to supporting our master's level programs in musicology, ethnomusicology, and music theory.
