About the position

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a practice-oriented Assistant Professor of Planning, Landscape Architecture and Design for a ranked renewable term position within the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture. This role involves teaching undergraduate courses in Environmental Design and contributing to community engagement projects through the Institute for Quality Communities. The position emphasizes a balance between teaching and project work, aimed at enhancing local quality of life through applied community planning and design.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 4 to 6 courses per academic year in the undergraduate Environmental Design program.
  • Contribute to professional project-based work with the Institute for Quality Communities (IQC).
  • Engage in community planning and design projects to improve local quality of life.
  • Mentor undergraduate students in project-oriented coursework.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a discipline represented in Gibbs College or a related field.
  • Experience in community engagement, design, and/or planning.
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to mentor undergraduate students.
