About the position

BCC invites applicants who enjoy working with a diverse student population to apply for a full-time tenure track position in psychology. We are seeking a faculty member to teach the introductory course as well as 200 level courses such as Human Growth and Development and Abnormal Psychology. An ability to teach Social Psychology and Adolescent Psychology is also appreciated. In addition to teaching, the faculty member will advise students, undertake professional development activities, assist in recruitment and programmatic development, and engage in college service through committee work. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative colleague interested in equity-minded pedagogy.

Responsibilities

  • Teach introductory and 200 level psychology courses including Human Growth and Development and Abnormal Psychology.
  • Advise students.
  • Undertake professional development activities.
  • Assist in recruitment and programmatic development.
  • Engage in college service through committee work.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Psychology required.
  • Demonstrate a depth of knowledge and experience in the discipline as evidenced by academic preparation and prior college teaching experience, preferably at the community college level.
  • Student-centered mindset and an interest in active learning strategies.
  • Experience with teaching in different modalities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to teach Social Psychology and Adolescent Psychology.
