About The Position
Eckerd College is seeking an Assistant Professor of Spanish for a tenure-track position starting in September 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching seven courses per academic year (3-1-3), maintaining an active research agenda, mentoring students, and engaging in service to the college and the department. Teaching duties will encompass all levels of language instruction, with a particular interest in candidates who utilize proficiency-based instruction and can teach Translation and Spanish for the Professions. Additionally, experience and/or willingness to direct January term language immersion abroad is highly desirable. Participation in an interdisciplinary, values-oriented general education program is also required, including a regular rotation in the two-semester first-year program.
