About the position
Cottey College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGS) to begin in August 2025. The role involves teaching a variety of undergraduate courses, coordinating the WGS program, and engaging in scholarly work. The ideal candidate will contribute to a collaborative and student-centered environment, supporting the college's mission of leadership, social responsibility, and global awareness.
Responsibilities
- Teach introductory and upper-division undergraduate courses in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, including Feminist Theories and Capstone.
- Coordinate the WGS program, collaborating with faculty across disciplines.
- Advise and mentor students, fostering their academic and personal growth.
- Sponsor student organizations and engage in service to the college community.
- Participate actively in the life of the college, contributing to its mission and values.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Rhetoric & Composition, or a related field.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Evidence of scholarly work in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
- Experience and interest in teaching introductory writing courses.
