About the position

The University of Pennsylvania's Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking an Assistant Professor in the non-tenure research track, specializing in neurodegenerative diseases. The role focuses on molecular biology, neurobiology, and super-resolution microscopy, particularly in relation to Parkinson's Disease and synucleinopathies. The successful candidate will develop an independent research program, collaborate with the Center of Neurodegenerative Diseases Research (CNDR), and maintain a high level of scholarly productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an independent, externally funded research program.
  • Collaborate with programs aligned with the CNDR and Neuropathology.
  • Maintain continuous scholarly productivity and scientific impact at the national level.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree required.
  • Minimum of four years of postdoctoral research experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology, neurobiology, and super-resolution microscopy.
  • Experience in research related to neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson's Disease and synucleinopathies.
  • Ability to compete for or have obtained national or international funding.
