About the position
The Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Early Childhood Education and Exceptionality Programs, starting August 25, 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching introductory and upper-level courses, supervising student teachers, and engaging in research and committee work. This position requires a commitment to serving a multi-campus university and may involve various modes of instruction including face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
Responsibilities
- Teach introductory and/or upper-level courses in early childhood education.
- Supervise student teachers or pre-student teachers.
- Maintain office hours as specified by the collective bargaining agreement.
- Engage in student consultation and advisement.
- Participate in committee work and research activities.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the department.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in PreK-grade 4.
- Demonstrated expertise in PreK-grade 4 curriculum and instruction.
- Doctorate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field from an accredited university.
