About The Position

The Department of Anthropology at Case Western Reserve University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Medical Anthropology and Global Health for the 2025-2026 academic year. The position invites candidates with expertise in various areas of medical anthropology and global health, emphasizing research, teaching, and collaboration across departments. The successful candidate will contribute to both undergraduate and graduate programs, supervise graduate students, and teach a range of courses in medical anthropology.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or comparable degree in a relevant field by the date of appointment.
  • Demonstrated potential for research and publication in medical anthropology and global health.

  • Expertise in biocultural anthropology, mental health, migration and health, reproductive health, global health and development, medical systems, environment and health, or other areas of medical anthropology.

Responsibilities

  • Teach two courses per semester, including introductory and advanced courses in medical anthropology and global health.
  • Supervise graduate students at the MA and PhD levels.
  • Contribute to the undergraduate anthropology major and the graduate program in Medical Anthropology and Global Health.
  • Engage in research, publication, and seek extramural funding.
  • Collaborate with faculty across the College and University with shared research interests.
