About the position

The Assistant Group Home Director is responsible for providing supervision to treatment team staff including direct supervision of management staff and oversight of supervision for direct care staff. S/he evaluates, coordinates, and directs the treatment milieu and services provided to students. S/he ensures that regulatory standards are met and that policies and procedures are operationalized. S/he functions as an integral member of the Administrative Team.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the consistent achievement of Stetson School standards of care on the team.
  • Ensures a safe and therapeutic milieu is provided at all times.
  • Ensures that all staff model and demonstrate care giver qualities that treat all students with dignity and respect.
  • Promotes staff interventions that support the Stetson School's ACORN approach.
  • Ensures that team staff work within the Family Engagement model.
  • Monitors staff to student interactions including professional boundaries.
  • Acts as a role model and reinforces pro-social behaviors with students and staff.
  • Assess team function on an ongoing basis and initiates problem-solving as needed.
  • Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and follow through in completion of work tasks.
  • Practice leadership boundaries by maintaining professional relationships and confidentiality.
  • Delegate responsibility appropriately and effectively.
  • Ensure on-going evaluation of team needs.
  • Maintain positive relationships, and represent Stetson School professionally.
  • Manage time efficiently, effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate effective conflict management skills.
  • Oversee and assess team's master schedule and communicate needs to the Residential Director.
  • Provide direct individual supervision to the team's Supervisors, Case Managers, Clinicians and Secretary.
  • Monitor the provision of direct care supervision by team Supervisors.
  • Plan, direct, and assess the structure and routines of residential programming.
  • Ensure that the Units offer skills training groups in accordance with program models.
  • Provide oversight for therapeutic recreation services provided to team by Recreation Coordinator.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for staff training hours and topics.
  • Ensure that team staff provides consistent documentation as identified by policy and protocol.
  • Lead treatment teams for all unit students, monitoring and approving all case decisions and actions.
  • Ensure that services are delivered as outlined in individual service plan and individual education plan.
  • Demonstrate comprehension of all relevant licensing regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Four years related experience and/or training in treatment and/or management of troubled and trauma exposed youth.
  • Knowledge of collaborative, team oriented management styles.
  • Understanding of employment laws, regulations, policies and ethical concerns relating to confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle a stressful work schedule with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write clearly, professionally, and comprehensively.
  • Ability to work comfortably within a Microsoft Windows network environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Conversational capacity in Spanish preferred, but not necessary.
