EOE POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Program Director will be responsible for assisting with the supervision of staff, coordination of programs within the OASAS and Prevention departments, identifying programmatic needs, supporting strategies associated substance misuse prevention, ensuring quality and completion of required OASAS documentation and deliverables in accordance with contractual obligations. In addition, the Assistant Director will provide support and guidance to staff related to assessing the needs of at-risk participants, such as child neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, unmet emotional needs, stresses of childcare, drug/alcohol abuse, attitude towards violence and peer pressure. Employees are responsible for complying with all UAU standards. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to): Assist Director in the daily operations of the Prevention Programs, and planning, implementing and documenting successful prevention strategies that may include but are not limited to educational, recreation, youth leadership, at risk youth, networking, community outreach, crisis intervention, and community service and arts activities related to community members. Accurately and appropriately complete the required record keeping and clerical functions for accurate auditing and reporting purposes. Supervise and contribute to the cohesive and effective functioning of each staff member, and provide coaching as necessary. Attend, create and facilitate Professional Development opportunities for all staff within the department including weekly supervision, weekly team meetings, pre-service training etc. Attend Community and Prevention related meetings (both via virtually and in-person). Research and facilitate surveys, annual report and OASAS approved curriculum Responsible to appropriately and effectively monitor and supervise incident reporting related to the department. Maintain staff records in accordance with the guidelines set forth by OASAS and other applicable governing contracts. Responsible for collaboration between Director of Prevention, Director of Operations and fiscal for all budget related matters. Responsible for assisting with staff management related to; the daily oversight of staff schedules, timecards, training, supervision, and support direct report employees, by providing verbal and written feedback, observation, coaching, and training. Perform other duties as assigned JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Social Services, Early Childhood Education, or other directly related fields required Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with OASAS grants/ contracts or similar contracts related to prevention services in a school based setting. 1+ years in a supervisory capacity in a childcare program or related field of work Completed a minimum of 30 hours of prevention specific education and training and has two years of qualifying prevention work experience OR licensed, certified, or credentialed in a *related discipline (CASAC, CPGC; CPHA (Certified Public Health Administrator), NY State Education Licensed or Certified Teacher, Health Educator, Guidance Counselor, Rehabilitation Counselor, Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Physician, National Board-Certified Counselor or Certified Health Education Specialist) OR Must be 18 years or older Reliable mode of transportation Valid drivers license Bilingual a plus 4+ years of direct working experience in youth services or school aged children (5yrs to 18yrs of age) Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and occasional weekends. Ability to work on community outreach and administrative tasks as needed.
