About the position

The Assistant Program Manager for Mental Health Housing and Recovery Services plays a crucial role in overseeing daily operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services within the program. This position involves collaboration with the Program Manager and Director, managing budgets, supervising staff, and promoting a recovery-oriented environment for program participants. The role requires leadership in guiding interdisciplinary team members and providing secondary on-call services based on the psychosocial rehabilitation model.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership for interdisciplinary team members during program activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day program operations and ensure high-quality recovery-oriented services.
  • Assist the Program Manager with monitoring, tracking, and reporting program outcomes.
  • Help maintain program budget and objectives, guiding service decisions based on budget knowledge.
  • Provide timely feedback and solutions to the Program Manager regarding staff, team, or client issues.
  • Monitor and audit completion of progress notes and care plans for enrolled clients.
  • Provide psychosocial rehabilitation services and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for individuals enrolled in housing programs.
  • Advocate for members to help them obtain and maintain housing and health care benefits.
  • Assist with program documentation standards and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Attend planning and administrative meetings as required by agency needs.
  • Participate in community involvement and planning of staff development activities.
  • Provide coaching and technical assistance to staff regarding documentation standards.
  • Represent MHALA in meetings with community partners and disseminate relevant information to the team.
  • Prepare and submit data quality/outcomes reports as assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Work with landlords and property management to generate housing opportunities.
  • Network with other service agencies to share resources and develop effective programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience providing psychosocial rehabilitative services to a disabled population.
  • Preferably a bachelor's degree in a human service or related field or certification in a mental health specialty.
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
  • Willingness to become LPS designated to write 5150 holds when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide supervision and leadership to diverse staff.
  • Flexible work schedule to include some nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Class C driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
  • TB clearance and re-testing every year are conditions of continued employment.
  • Good basic English writing skills and computer skills are required.
  • Knowledge of community resources and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to track and interpret complex data sets for program services and budget.

Nice-to-haves

  • Valid CPR certificate preferred.
  • Experience in a supervisory role in a mental health setting.
