About the position

The Assistant Program Manager for Navy Studies at APL plays a crucial role in enhancing the Navy's strategic and operational capabilities through innovative analysis and collaboration. This position involves supporting the Navy Studies Program Manager in developing relationships with Navy leadership, executing studies to advance naval warfare tactics, and managing project performance, cost, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Navy Studies Program Manager in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with Navy leadership.
  • Support the execution of innovative studies to advance naval warfare tactics and inform acquisition needs.
  • Oversee aspects of cost, schedule, and performance management for various projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or national security.
  • At least five years of experience in defense operations, analysis, systems engineering, or another relevant discipline.
  • Experience working with the Navy, showcasing expertise in addressing specific analytical requirements.
  • History of developing sponsor relationships and securing funding.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Active Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a TS/SCI level clearance.
