About the position

The Assistant Project Coordinator (APC) plays a vital role in supporting the Office of Design and Construction (ODC) at AdventHealth. This position involves coordinating and managing multiple small construction projects, ensuring effective communication between project stakeholders, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The APC is integral to the successful execution of projects, contributing to the overall mission of providing exceptional patient-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, expedite, and distribute project information including changes in project priorities with respect to schedule, performance, and budget.
  • Manage multiple small construction projects (under $5,000) under the supervision of an ODC Project Coordinator or Project Manager.
  • Participate in pre-construction activities including review of existing conditions, schedule, budget, and cost management during the contracting phase.
  • Attend Owner, Architect, and Contractor (OAC) meetings to facilitate information flow between OAC and Clinical/Operations staff.
  • Prepare project schedules and cost estimates, coordinating the work of subcontractors and/or ODC construction crew throughout the project.
  • Visit job sites frequently to evaluate and review progress.
  • Update project files for the Project Coordinator and Project Manager to include all documents required for regulatory compliance and audits.
  • Assist in maintaining internal approval communications tools, project budget tracking forms, and other related documents throughout the project lifecycle.
  • File all project-related materials, documents, blueprints, maps, etc.
  • Interface with contractors and hospital staff on utility interruptions, traffic control, and safety issues during construction.
