About the position

The Assistant Project Manager plays a crucial role in the planning, bidding, quantity estimating, and execution of commercial tile, terrazzo, stone, and carpet projects. This position is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while supporting senior management and stakeholders in achieving business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior management and stakeholders in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals.
  • Prepare and submit shop drawings, submittals, bids, estimates, and other documents or reports in an accurate, complete, professional, and timely manner.
  • Develop project budgets.
  • Develop and deliver key progress reports, proposals, required documentation, and presentations.
  • Direct field crews; collaborate with field supervisors to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide take-offs, estimates, schedules, labor reports, etc. using WinEst software.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma; a degree in construction management is an added value.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans and project specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities within established deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and any other screen take-off software.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Above average computer and architectural plan reading skills.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Sage 300 Timberline accounting and WinEst estimating software is preferred, but not required.
