About the position

The Assistant Project Manager at F.A. Wilhelm Construction Co., Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager in overseeing the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects. This position is integral to ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the company's quality standards. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, and progress measurement of projects.
  • Forecast and analyze construction costs, exposures, and profits.
  • Develop the schedule for all phases of the build.
  • Assist with permits and communicate any impacts to the proposed schedule.
  • Lead, direct, and coordinate day-to-day management and construction activities in conjunction with the Project Superintendent.
  • Manage project costs through ongoing evaluations of labor, material, and equipment.
  • Interface with all company departments to resolve issues and act as a liaison between clients, subcontractors, and government officials.
  • Ensure substantial completion as defined in the specifications and assist with project closeout.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in the construction industry.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
