About the position

The Assistant Project Manager at BGIS plays a crucial role in planning and overseeing the delivery of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet all requirements. This position also supports the central project management team in various project coordination tasks, contributing to the overall success of project delivery and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and oversees the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects.
  • Defines project scope, deliverables, and requirements in collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Develops and implements project plans, including resource and budget requirements, cost estimates, and timelines.
  • Identifies project risks and develops mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Monitors project delivery against timelines and ensures timely completion.
  • Oversees the activities of project team members and monitors project task completion.
  • Communicates project status to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensures projects comply with all regulatory, environmental, and health and safety requirements.
  • Assumes financial responsibility for projects, including accurate reporting to stakeholders.
  • Facilitates invoice payments from clients and to vendors, reviews and approves vendor billing.
  • Prepares client and vendor change orders and monitors financial performance of projects.
  • Maintains all required project-related data in the Project Management Software system.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with clients, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; college diploma in architectural technology, construction technology, engineering technology, business management, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of project management work experience or 5 to 7 years of project coordination work experience.
  • Proven ability and experience in delivering projects on-time, on-budget, and within specifications.
  • Experience in developing and managing project budgets.
  • Proven ability in mitigating and managing project risks.
  • Strong communication, influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with clients.
  • Strong client service orientation and experience in managing client relationships.
  • Proven ability in managing vendor performance.
  • Continuous improvement and quality mindset with a desire to incorporate best practices and technologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and ability to quickly learn new applications.
