About the position

The Assistant Project Manager role at Jacobs is an entry-level position aimed at recent graduates who are eager to contribute to the management of building design and construction projects. The position involves delivering Owner's Representative services for renovation and new construction projects primarily in Connecticut and New York, with project costs ranging from $500K to $50M. The role requires effective teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills to manage multiple projects and ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Owner's Representative services for renovation and new construction building projects.
• Support multiple projects concurrently, managing all phases of work from site selection to construction management.
• Serve as the site lead for specific projects, working directly with clients and project stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain reports, meeting minutes, correspondence, logs, invoices, financial spreadsheets, and project schedules.
• Direct the efforts of owners' consultants, designers, and builders.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree
• Previous Jacobs PMCM Intern experience
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques used in building construction
• Ability to recognize faulty construction or hazardous conditions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a working knowledge of scheduling software
• Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• OSHA 10 certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience working on construction projects in the Higher Education sector
• Knowledge of the Connecticut State Building Codes and related references.
