About the position

The Assistant Project Manager at Joeris General Contractors LLC is responsible for supporting the project team in various administrative and operational tasks related to commercial construction projects. This role involves managing project schedules, budgets, and documentation while fostering relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors. The position requires a proactive approach to project management and a commitment to ensuring project success through effective communication and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with clients, architects, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Review, coordinate, distribute, and submit administrative paperwork to architects and owners as required.
  • Maintain project schedule by assisting with creating and regularly updating the 'progress schedule' with Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Learn and utilize Prolog Converge as the primary project management software to track all aspects of the project.
  • Assist with preparing all subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of project budgets alongside Project Manager and Senior Project Manager.
  • Review and verify weekly invoicing through accounts payable and maintain rental and tool logs for assigned projects.
  • Review, coordinate, produce, and distribute RFI's (requests for information) as required.
  • Review and become familiar with owner contracts, subcontractor master agreements, purchase orders, and subcontracts.
  • Assist with preparation of schedule of values for monthly application for payment submissions.
  • Assist with preparation and facilitation of all pre-construction meetings and weekly Subcontractor meeting agenda preparation.
  • Assist with compiling and issuing complete approved set of documents to Superintendent.
  • Track and verify city inspections.
  • Assist in obtaining Storm Water Plan (SWPPP) from Civil Engineer.
  • Review, monitor, and coordinate shop drawings, submittals, product samples, and checking for contract conformance.
  • Assist the project team with project startup requirements.
  • Prepare and track any reports and/or logs required by specifications.
  • Monitor the delivery of items provided by major vendors and subcontractors.
  • Produce, distribute, and close all items in pre-substantial completion punch list.
  • Assist with closeout document preparation and submission of attic stock materials at project completion.
  • Assist with compiling and archiving all job data upon completion of project.
  • Track all warranty items on completed projects.
  • Ensure job office and site is organized, clean, and presentable at all times.
  • Assist Superintendent and Project Manager as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 2 to 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial construction.
  • Confined Space, First Aid/CPR/AED, Defensive Driving certifications preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
