About the position

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is an entry-level position within the project management team at MPS, designed for individuals looking to grow their careers in construction management. The APM will provide administrative and construction support, manage project documentation, and assist in various project activities under the guidance of a Project Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile projects while developing essential skills in project management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
  • Oversee project activities as assigned by the Project Manager, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Maintain change orders, submittal, and document control logs.
  • Prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely contract submittals and create Subcontractors' contracts.
  • Assemble and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals in a timely manner.
  • Follow the project quality control plan and interact with subcontractors for documentation accuracy.
  • Keep the Warranty Log up to date and attend company/project meetings to provide support.
  • Cooperate with field personnel and monitor contractors' activities and progress.
  • Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files, prepare price change orders and project reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction-related role, which can include a combination of training, education, and relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Oracle preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and legal documentation.
